Friends and family,
I am so proud to announce I officially filed for State Senate in the 35th District.
Since 2021, I have had the honor of serving as your Thurston County Commissioner and currently serve as Chair of the Board of Health. In these roles, I have worked closely with families, workers, small businesses, service providers, and community members across our region. I have also seen where too many people are being left behind, especially those in underserved communities who are working hard but still struggling to afford housing, access services, and stay healthy.
Right now, families across our region are making impossible choices between groceries and rent, between a doctor’s visit and putting gas in the car. This isn’t just a policy failure; it’s a failure of leadership. While our current Senator views our community through the lens of a venture capitalist, I see it through the eyes of a neighbor and a parent. My priorities are clear: lowering costs for working families, expanding access to affordable housing, improving access to public services, and strengthening community health.
Our district needs leaders who will fight for the people who are struggling most, listen to the needs of every community, and make decisions with the future of our children in mind. As your State Senator, I will use my voice to elevate the issues that matter most to you and work every day to deliver results.
I am honored to have leaders I trust and admire standing with me in this race. My plan for the 35th legislative district has earned me the endorsement of Congresswoman Emily Randall, District 6; Tye Menser, Thurston County Commissioner, District 3; Wayne Fournier, Thurston County Commissioner, District 4; and Malcolm Miller, Mayor Pro Tem at the City of Lacey.
Thank you for being my community, and believing in what our community can become. I look forward to working alongside you in this fight for our future!
Sincerely,
Carolina Mejia
